This reflection was inspired by the recent Women’s Engagement and Upliftment Roundtable honoring Louise Langdon Little, mother of prominent black activist Malcom X held in the land of her birth, our beautiful Pure Grenada. During the dialogue, a talented working professional bravely shared her struggles with maintaining energy and vitality amid her busy schedule. It’s not uncommon for many of us, especially women, to experience cycles of energy that ebb and flow throughout the month. At times, we feel vibrant and energized for a couple of weeks before encountering moments of fatigue and introspection. This cycle often mirrors the natural rhythms of our bodies and the phases of the moon, reminding us of the interconnectedness of life. In our tropical paradise, we are keenly aware of how the moon influences the tides and by extension, our own energy. During certain lunar phases—especially the full moon—you may notice heightened energy, creativity, and motivation as the moon illuminates the night sky. Conversely, the new moon and waning phases invite us to slow down, reflect, and rest; a natural invitation to listen closely to our bodies and honor our emotional landscapes.
